Hard to believe, but our time in the U.S. for this pregnancy/maternity/paternity leave is already done. We head back to Russia this week - Christian is six weeks old and got to meet almost all of his extended family. Caroline has grown so much since we got here, and has loved her time with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
It's a bittersweet moment, because we are excited to return to our house and settle into our little family's routine again, but we will really miss being so close to our families on the East and West Coasts. It's really difficult to manage the time difference from Russia (9 or 10 hours from the East Coast, 11 or 12 hours from the West Coast) - I discovered how challenging it is while Mike and I were apart November through January. But we think it's really important for the kids to maintain those family relationships so we're going to try our best to make frequent conversations and video chats possible; thank goodness for modern technology!
We will keep you all posted on our adventures, lots more to come!

What a glorious family picture, Shannon. You are all blessed with so many loving people to surround you.
That was the quickest six weeks ever! Your kids are so cute. Safe travels!
